IAN's Grand Opening

Happy New Year!

To kick off 2016, we'd like to invite you to IAN's. Indulge at IAN's with "Just Like Home food" with his special touch. It's conveniently located in between Cars Land and Mickey's Playhouse in Ian's room.  Ian prides himself in his delivery service within the house, but I highly suggest ordering for pick up if you're located on the 1st floor. (He tends to mess up his presentation as he scoots down the stairs)

As head chef, Ian specializes in pizza, hot dogs, fresh cut bread and chocolate cake.
Sooo IAN case you're hungry, stop by :)

haha ok, Ian would always say he wants to cook and so for a while now I've had him stand on our dining chair and "cook" over our kitchen stove. So for Christmas, I got Ian a Melissa & Doug Cooks Corner with the Cutting Food and Sushi Slicing sets.

I spent my Christmas Eve painting and assembling his kitchen so he'd have it just in time for Christmas.  We had a late night soft opening where Ian served pizza to match his "pizza tree" shirt haha.

Here's how I transformed the Melissa & Doug Cooks Corner to match Ian's room:

Halloween 2015

Another Halloween has passed.  I'm so glad that this year we got to add a couple more traditions aaaannnnd create another duo costume.

This year Ian and I were Bing Bong and Sadness from Disney's Inside Out.
If you haven't watched the movie yet, I highly recommend that you do.

DIY Halloween Cupcakes

Happy Halloween Week! Adding to our Halloween traditions, I decided I wanted to bake treats.  I got this easy to make kit from Target. Oh how we love target.  It's called the "Graveyard Cake Kit." It comes with chocolate cake mix, Oreo crumbles and gummy worms.  All you need to add is water and butter.

DIY Pumpkin Painting

From our previous post, I knew Ian wouldn't be able to join in the carving so during my trip at Target, I got this pumpkin decorating kit. They had all kinds, from characters to pretty gems.  I chose the dinosaur one 'cause it's one of Ian's top 3 favorite things. (Cars and trains are the other two)

This kit came with green paint, a brush and stickers.

Our 1st Pumpkin Carving

It's my favorite time of the year!  As I've shared before, Halloween is my favorite holiday.  Growing up in a traditional Filipino family, we never really got into decorating too much and definitely never carved pumpkins.  Well, this year we changed that :)

As you might have seen on our Instagram, we went to a pumpkin patch and chose our pumpkins.  Ian is obviously too young to really help so it was MY 1st carving.  Ian made it extra difficult by wanting to sit on my lap most of the time.  It's ok though 'cause at the end he said... "Hi Bat!"

My One in a Minion

Halloween is my favorite holiday!  Though I don't always go all out with the traditions such as pumpkin carving and decorating, I love dressing up.  I don't usually buy costumes but instead, I like putting things together from what I already have along with a few new pieces.  It's not necessarily about being exact, but being creative.

This year I dressed Ian as a minion from Despicable Me and we (me, my mom and one of Ian's ninangs) dressed to match the theme.  I initially planned on dressing Ian up as a doctor to match his BMW buggy, but a week before Halloween, I thought it'd be much cuter and fun if we did Despicable Me.

Overalls: OshKosh (old) Minion Logo: Cut felt and hand sewn

Ian Joseph's 1st Clubhouse Party

I don't know about you but a baby's gotta have a 1st birthday party.  I agree it doesn't have to be big or anything like that, and yes, he won't recall a thing.  But Ian and I have had a heck of a year and it's time to celebrate!

Ian's LOVES Mickey Mouse
so it was only fitting that we throw a Clubhouse themed party.

DIY: Baby Photo Shoot Tips

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I had one of those sleepless nights..I was awake for 2 middle of the night feedings :( . When I can't fall asleep, I read up on mommy stuff or catch up on news, but more often than not, I look back at the many photos and videos I've taken of Ian.
#obsessed

I came across photos of his first photo shoot for his baby announcement.  We had professional photos taken at the hospital but because I had doctors, nurses, and visitors coming and going, I left before I could run into the photographer and so I never got to purchase any :( .  I still announced Ian's birth with this quick post for my friends and fam through ig.
