Celebrating 18 Months with the Fishies

We've been MIA, I know. If you follow us on Instagram ( @ian_fluenced ) you'll see that Ian has been on adventures, exploring, learning..and GROWING.  He's just too quick and full of energy to stay still for enough pictures to make the blog. And in all honesty, this blog is meant to document, but sometimes it's just better to be in the moment, have it be something that's yours and yours alone :)

But since it's been a while, and I started this blog on his half birthday, I thought why not post on his last "half birthday" celebration.

Ian loves animals, especially aquatic ones.  So for Ian's 18th month, I took him to The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.  It was not crowded at all so I was really happy that we could take our time, not have to worry about kids pushing and shoving and letting Ian roam free.  All he kept doing was pointing and "ooo"ing.  It was so heartwarming watching him as he showed interest, curiosity and wonder.

After the aquarium, we went to Shorline Park to catch the beautiful view of downtown from the lighthouse.  Long beach will always have a special place in my heart.  It was so surreal to look at a place and have flashes of different moments of my life.  10 years ago, I was living here, partying at V20 across the street, just 1 year before Ian was born I was boarding the Carnival cruise ship to Ensenada and now I'm standing in the middle of it all with a little boy waddling around me noticing his shadow.

Ian has grown soo much in the past few months.
Physically - I always get the comment, "What are you feeding him?"
Emotionally - TANTRUMS. Hello terrible twos :/
Spiritually - He learned how to do the sign of the cross and does it on his own when walking into church :))
Intellectually - too much to mention. He's a trickster too.
Socially - He'll say hi to everyone...especially girls. He's had his 1st kiss, 1st fight.  Disneyland is his spot and he loves to dance.

*sigh* I'll never stop being proud of this boy.
