I have always had a love and appreciation for art...all time periods, mediums, genres. I was a pre-art major once, turned design major so I always knew art would play an integral part in how I viewed the world. Being able to take Ian to see some of my favorite artists (even at a young age) and hear him say "WOW" was priceless.
I'm always in awe when seeing authentic pieces from famous artists. (You can imagine how I was when I visited the Louvre and Rodin Museum straight out of design school). So spending a day with my little one, Lichtenstein, Koons and Warhol brought a joy to my heart that I've been needing lately.
Unfortunately, I didn't even make an attempt at taking Ian to Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room because I thought he'd be scared. I'm definitely going back for it and to take in more of the art and architecture that truly deserves to be appreciated.
Head-to-toe: H&M
If you're ever in the Los Angeles area, I highly recommend visiting The Broad.
It's home to nearly 2,000 pieces of postwar and contemporary art..adding about one work a week. It's free for all ages and you can reserve tickets online. We went on a whim and only waited about 30 minutes in the on-site line.
Take lots of pictures but no flash or selfie sticks allowed!
<3,
Melissa
